Full Standards

Westminster Daily

Dr. Joseph Pipa, President of Greenville Presbyterian Theological Seminary, has developed a plan that takes one through the Westminster Standards in a year (Westminster Confession, Westminster Larger Catechism, and Westminster Shorter Catechism). You can view the plan online by visiting ReformedConfessions.com or you can subscribe to have a portion of the standards delivered to your email inbox each day by subscribing to their email feed. The portions are not large (typically one question from one of the catechisms each day, or a short portion of the confession); therefore, it is very easy to read through the Westminster Standards in a year using this plan or subscription. If you prefer to print a PDF and work through the schedule that way, we have posted it on our Reading Plans page.

Shorter Catechism

Westmnstr Catechisms App

Deo Volente, LLC has published the Westmnstr Catechisms App on the iTunes store. The iTunes store describes the app as follows, “This app for iPhone and iPod Touch features the Westminster Shorter & Larger, Heidelberg, and Geneva Catechisms. Each catechism contains questions and answers, Scripture proofs in KJV and ESV, and a feature to hide the answer to aid in memorization.”

Christian Creeds and Reformed App

James Price has developed the Christian Creeds and Reformed App. The app gives the ecumenical creeds and the standards of the Continental Reformed and English Presbyterian churches; it includes the following documents by default and gives the option to download others: the three ancient creeds (the Apostles’ Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed); the ‘Three Forms of Unity’ (the Belgic Confession, the Heidelberg Catechism, and the Canons of Dort); and the Westminster Standards (the Westminster Confession and the Shorter and Larger Catechisms.)

Children’s (First) Catechism

OPC Website

Many with very young children prefer to start with the First Catechism instead of the Westminster Shorter Catechism. The First Catechism is ideal for teaching small children because it presents profound truths in questions and answers that are easy for children to memorize. You can access the First Catechism on the OPC website.

Ask Me WhoOo

Diana Beach Batarseh has put the entire First Catechism to song in her Ask Me WhoOo series (3 volumes). The songs are catchy and help children to memorize the questions and answers. Each question also has a proof text to ground the truths in the Scriptures. You can learn more on the Ask Me WhoOo website or you can listen to song samples and purchase the songs on Amazon.
