Nels and his wife of 29 years, Annie, live in rural Weld County, Colorado. Nels is a fifth generation native of Colorado, and Annie is a seventh generation Californian. Nels attended Bob Jones University, Greenville, SC where he graduated with a BS in Accounting and Annie graduated from Northland Baptist Bible College with a BA in Education, and from Chambers College with a Masters in Counseling. Nels and Annie have been members of Bethel since 2002.
Together Nels and Annie have eleven children: Caleb, Annika, Abigail (deceased), Seth, Evangeline, Hans, Abel, Noah, Nels, Soren and Annemarie. As a family they enjoy music and farming.
